Trainings on prevention of gender-based violence

October 29, 2019 on the basis of Aktobe law Institute of the Ministry of internal affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Bukenbaev was the first day of a series of training aimed at preparing police officers for the prevention of gender violence, taking into account international experience. As part of this event, the Institute opened a center for training specialists in the prevention of domestic violence. The centre will train police officers on measures to prevent domestic violence.

The seminar was opened by the acting Deputy head of the Institute of police Major Balymov Erlan Kuanyshevich, guests of the event were the Deputy resident Representative of UNDP of the Republic of Kazakhstan Vitaliy Vremish, Secretary of the National Commission for women affairs and family demographic policy in Aktobe region Akmaral Khon, Manager of the UNDP project Tulesbaeva Gulmira, and Head of the Department of social work the Department of internal affairs of Kostanay Academy of the Ministry of internal affairs, police Colonel Nurlan Tolkinbayev.

The theme of combating violence and gender inequality is reflected in the Sustainable Development Goals developed by the United Nations and adopted by the Republic of Kazakhstan, along with other UN member States.The UN development program will continue to cooperate with the Ministry of internal affairs of Kazakhstan, including the large-scale reform of the Kazakh police, aimed at strengthening the authority of the police and the trust of citizens in it.
