Conducting a training seminar with students of advanced training courses

In the period from 5 to 7 October 2019, on the basis of the Aktobe law Institute of the Ministry of internal affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Bukenbaev, a training seminar was held for officers of internal affairs bodies in the category of district police inspectors assigned to educational organizations on the theme: «Strengthening access to justice in the field of gender violence — effective perception, capacity building and mobilization of police forces when working on the facts of gender violence».

The seminar was conducted by Head of the Department of social work in Department of internal affairs of Kostanay Academy of MIA of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Sh.Kabylbaev, candidate of pedagogical Sciences, Professor, police Colonel Tulkinbaev Nurlan Akkalashovich (Kazakhstan, Kostanay), acting Deputy chief of Aktobe law Institute of the MIA of RK named after M. Bukenbaev for academic affairs, police Major Balymov Erlan Kuanyshevich and project assistant of UNDP Canatbaev Arhat (RK, Nur-Sultan).

Fruitful work of all participants of the event contributed to the development of a group agreement.

Special interest of participants was caused by the story of the coach of inquiry with children victims of sexual violence, which held a group session and discussed in detail work of Department of police on prevention and violence prevention.

The theme of continuing work with the trainers was «The role of public organizations in helping victims of sexual and domestic violence», where the organizers presented the principles of cooperation between IAB and NPOs.

Most of the work was carried out in groups, which contributed to the development of the necessary recommendations for the most effective perception, capacity building and mobilization of police forces in dealing with gender-based violence.

In the final part of the event, the participants of the event filled out questionnaires designed to assess the knowledge gained, and were awarded certificates.
