ON THE RESULTS OF THE ROUND-ROUND TABLE “GENDER POLICY OF KAZAKHSTAN-GENDER EQUALITY”

On November 3, 2017, within the framework of the Comprehensive Plan for the Prevention of Offenses for 2017-2019 and the Plan of the Women’s Council for 2017-2018, the Aktobe Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Malkejar Bukenbaev, held a round table on “Gender Policy of Kazakhstan – Gender Equality”.

The main topics for discussion were the problems of gender equality and family-domestic violence.

The meeting was opened by the deputy head of the Aktyubinsk Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Bukenbaev, candidate of law sciences, lieutenant colonel of the police Suleymanova Galiya Zhanabekovna, who after the greeting gave the floor to the speakers. In their speeches, the speakers noted that the gender policy in Kazakhstan assumes a broad and integrated approach, which is to cover all spheres of social relations relating to the rights and legitimate interests of men and women, and to establish equal opportunities for them. In modern conditions, gender equality issues are particularly relevant and are among the most important social problems. This means that in the long term in this direction it is necessary to show great efforts for a clear and coordinated work both on the part of the state and society with a view to implementing effective mechanisms to achieve equal opportunities for men and women.

Head of the Department of Criminal Process and Criminalistics of the Institute Colonel of the Police Igolnikov A.G, Deputy Head of the Department “Al and AA BIA”, Police Major Izbas R.S, Secretary of the Commission for Women and Family and Demographic Policy under the Akim of Aktobe  region  Khon A.R, Inspector for the Protection of Women from Violence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Department of Internal Affairs, Aktobe region , Major of Police, Askarova M.K, Lawyer of the “Women’s Support Center in Aktobe” Zabih L.Zh.,coach for interpersonal relationships Bokushev E. E., as well as cadets 2 courses Zhabaykhanov EE and Mukhamedrakhimov Zh.D. and students of the advanced training course.

A great interest in the audience was caused by the reports of the Secretary of the Commission for Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the Akim of Aktobe region , Khon A.R., Coach «coach» for interpersonal relationships, E. Bokusheva, the head of the Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics Department of the Aktobe Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic Kazakhstan named after M. Bukenbaev, Colonel of the Police I. Igolnikov.

The gender equality issue was continued by the Inspector for the Protection of Women from Violence of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Department of Internal Affairs of Aktobe, police major Amangeldiyeva M.K, who provided statistical data on the Aktobe  region for nine months of this year. on offenses committed against women and reported on the opening in Aktobe of a crisis center for women with children who found themselves in difficult life circumstances. Up to 130 women, who have been subjected to psychological or physical violence, lost their relatives, single mothers with minor children, families of victims of fire, women released from places of deprivation of liberty and others will be able to live here before solving their problems.

The lawyer of the “Women’s Support Center in Aktobe” Zabih L.Zh.t. touched upon the issue of equal access of men and women to public service, and also spoke about practical activities on the prevention of domestic violence and legal support for victims of violence.

Summing up the results of the event, deputy head of the Aktobe  Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Bukenbaev, candidate of law sciences, lieutenant colonel of the police Suleymanova Galiya Zhanabekovna noted the great practical importance of such meetings and in solemn conditions presented each of the guests with reports of guests with certificates of participation in the round table “Gender policy of Kazakhstan – gender equality”.

The participants of the round table expressed the hope that such meetings will be held on an ongoing basis.
